note: if game fails to load/start
your problem might be you have copied the 2 files in bin from update to the wrong folder the 2 files are to be copied to c:\program files or electronic arts\valve\portal 2\portal2\bin

after copying launcher.exe and so forth to folder and updating do the above and i assure game should work fine
